Higher Octane Gas - The Myth

Is higher octane gas necessary, or even better? The answer is most often no. Higher octane gas is needed in some cars (consult your owner’s manual) but in most all vehicles (especially newer models) you get no performance benefit and are simply throwing away extra cash. At nearly a $0.40 price difference you may be paying 10% more than you need to for gas if you’re using the expensive stuff.
