Installing a HHO Kit for More MPG

Written on January 3, 2009. Written by Zac.

hhoMany people install HHO gas Conversion kits in their cars after hearing that this will help them to far get better gas mileage. However, some of them will start complaining after a couple of weeks. The reason behind this is that they have not done the installation in the right manner. Now you may ask what is the right manner to install a HHO gas conversion kit? However, before discussing that let us find out what HHO is.

HHO is the abbreviated version of Hybrid Hydrogen Oxygen. HHO, otherwise known as Oxy-hydrogen is a very productive way of checking the fuel crisis. When used in the vehicles as a combustion fuel HHO is called a Brown gas. It is made by passing electric current through water. In other words, this is a gaseous mixture of hydrogen and oxygen. Two parts of hydrogen and one part of oxygen is mixed to get HHO, a gaseous mixture. Water is made by molecularly combining two parts of hydrogen with one part of oxygen. However, while making HHO we simply mix them.

Hydrogen is an extremely flammable gas. Oxygen is the main requirement for any fire or combustion. When both oxygen and hydrogen are put together, you will be getting enormous amount of power. The process of running your car with HHO is not that complicated one. Generally, this is done by storing water under the hood of your vehicle in a container. Once you start the vehicle, the electrolysis process starts. The water will be converted into a gaseous form, often referred to as brown gas. This is also called hydrogen fuel cell or hydroxy. The gas thus made will be introduced to the airflow in the intake manifold with the help of your engines vacuum. Finally, the gas is mixed with the gasoline to provide you with better mileage.

When the combustion takes place inside the engine, or within the engine we call it internal combustion. This is something that everybody knows. Every time you start your vehicle, a huge amount of energy is produced. It is with this energy that you operate the windshield wipers, headlights and other gadgets inside the car. A fair amount of energy is been wasted at this stage. Now you can use this particular energy to do the earlier said electrolysis process. Thus, you can save the energy and increase your mileage.

Hopefully now you have learned a bit more about how you can greatly increase your current MPG with the simple addition of an HHO kit. They’re cheap, easy to install and pay for themselves in no time through the gain in fuel efficiency.

I personally bought mine from here, it is about half the price of Water4Gas so if you’re interested I recommend it.
